Fixing sliding wardrobes rail to ceiling?
I need to fix a sliding wardrobe rail to the ceiling via a plank of wood to ensure the height is right, what is the best way to ensure the rail / wood grips to the ceiling? Whats the best way to find the baton?

- screw it to a bracket
- try to fix it to a baton in the roof space,go into the loft and measure it out
- umbrella screws
- For a drywall ceiling, use a stud finder to locate the ceiling joists---usually spaced every 16 inches or two feet on center....use drywall or construction screws that are 1 1/2 inches longer than the material you're attaching. Crawl in the attic if possible to check the spacing and direction of the joists. For texture ceilings or plaster/lathe, use toggle bolt fasteners....you can poke small holes in the ceiling along the route of the board you're attaching to try to find the joists...make sure they are joists and not just the wood lathe if that's the type of ceiling you have.
